Vitamins for dogs
Do you give your dogs vitamins and supplements? My husband is against it because he said as long as our dogs are fed good food and complete with exercise then they are healthy. However, our first 2 dogs died of kidney problem so I have been thinking of how to prevent kidney stones. And so as not to evade my husband's dislike for the supplements in packets, we resorted to herbal. We give our dogs herbal tea made from banaba and sambong leaves, proven effective against kidney stones - the sambong dissolves stones while banaba is a diuretic that cleanses the kidneys and bladder.

But lately, the vet recommended iron supplement so we cannot argue with that prescription.

RE: Vitamins for dogs
Yes, we have a dog that is quite old and is nearing the end of her life, and we give her these dog vitamins, and ever since we have given her those, we noticed that she has been moving a lot faster, has more energy, and wants to play more often. It's amazing to see a 15 year old little dog go from having absolutely no energy to running, and playing 2-3 hours a day.

RE: Vitamins for dogs
Vitamins are quite revitalizing in terms of body physiology and processes. Many enzymes are made of protein bases with vitamin radicals attached. If you want to know the basis of health, you cannot ignore this important aspect. Normally, people ignore the fact that pets are supposed to be given a balanced diet just like we human beings. The problem occurs because most people don't know what to give to dogs since they don't consume vegetables save for avocados. Did you give them supplements? In this regard, a pet owner has to be careful in order not to overdo things by transforming the situation from vitamin deficiency to vitaminosis. The formulation of supplements is generally tailored to factor in human requirements without regard to the fact that animals also require the same. But I might be wrong since there could be veterinary alternatives. I would appreciate any advice to be in the know in this regard since am guilty as charged.

I give a daily dose of vitamins to my dog to aid her nutrition. She usually just eats dog food in the morning or boiled chicken liver, or chicken meat or ground beef and some rice for lunch and dinner. It would help fill nutrition, if that's even possible with the what she eats right now. If we have apples and veggies, I'd give her those as well. Its' important to never miss a dose.
