Just recently some rats managed to get into my bunny rabbit and guinea pig hutch in the garden and killed my guinea pig  : I found the guinea pig in the morning with half its neck eaten off and both its rear legs severly severed, also it had its eyeballs eaten out of its head. I guess the rabbit managed to defend itself because it was fine, it seemed a little disturbed so I brought it inside the house and now I have it sleeping in travel box at night and let it walk around the house in the day.
I am really upset about this and I dont know what to do in the future, should I bring in a pest exterinator? Shall I leave out some rat poison or some traps?
I have been awake crying for 2 days now as I have emotional issues surrounding abuse and violence, thats why I am asking what to do on this forum as have some social-anxiety and need to make a very precise plan before I make phone calls or go outside. Please can someone give me some advise / make a plan?
