There is a mountain resort that we go to for camping fun and sometimes we stay overnight, sleeping in tents. We usually bring our dogs because the resort is fenced and they can be let loose (with supervision, of course). Even if there were other campers, our dogs behave pretty well except for Barbie, our pekingese who seems to hate children. At the sound of a child's voice, expect Barbie to be alert and she would certainly rush upon seeing the child. But in fairness to Barbie, she doesn't bite. Maybe it's just in her nature not to be comfortable with children.
In times like that, it's a great time of bonding for me and my dogs. Imagine at night, we are huddled together in one small tent - me and my husband plus our 2 dogs. Inside the tent, it doesn't matter if it rains for as long as we are not getting wet then it's still fun even if we cannot sleep with the roar of thunder. By the way, the thunder is Barbie's nemesis. She is scared of the sound and truly stressed for sometimes she involuntarily urinates or defecates when the thunder is incessant.
