It really depends on the situation and the species.
I have no problem seeing house fly and cockroaches die. They are absolutely gross, and can spread diseases.
When I walk outdoor, I would avoid stepping on ants. For some reason, I like ants. Maybe it's the children's stories about them I heard when I was a kid myself.
