Even before reading that detoxification of pets, we already have a herbal concoction that we ourselves cook. It is a combination of 3 leaves - sambong, banaba, lemon grass. The sambong is preventive and curative of kidney stones which is a prevalent disease of small dogs. The banaba is a diuretic that is friendly to kidney and bladder as well. The lemon grass is the detox part that eradicates cholesterol.
It's actually a long story that started in 1996 when I had my first kidney stones that were removed and then it recurred and removed again and for the 3rd time the stones came again. But this 3rd occurrence in 2006 was kind of controlled by that concoction. So until now my kidneys are doing fine. In 2012, Epoy our pekingese, died of renal failure. There was blood in his urine some months before his death, clearly the culprit was kidney stones. So now what's good for me - the concoction that I drink 3x a week - is also good for my dogs. We give them that concoction everyday as part of the detox.
