Favorite bird toys?
What are some of your birds all time favorite (or not so favorite) toys?

My African Grey Noah loves his wood toys. He also loves little plastic boats that you get from Fisher Price for babies. He will hold them and scratch the top of his head with them and say Pretty Bird Noah. : )

My Eclectus loves his mirror toys. He goes nuts looking at himself, regurgitating on the toy, with his eyes wildly pinning. He also likes "making love" to it, birdie style. My Quaker taught him how to use toys for sex, since the Quaker is an expert at it. It was a relief when he learned, since before this he'd try to use ME and would scream his head off when I'd stop him! Ugh!

The Quaker's favorite toy is anything with yarn. He also loves weaving his chain toys through the roof bars of the cage. He's always busy with his toys, moving them around and figuring out new things to do with them.

RE: Favorite toys?
My budgies love paper! I just curl up some paper or make it into a hat or a swan or an accordion and they just chew at it. They pick at it all day. I think the toy-type depends greatly on the bird itself. For example, my Angel will not touch a new toy until Tweetee (the oldest) has played with it first. They really seem to enjoy climbing though, so I've bought them a few new ladders. Does anyone else have birds that enjoy physical activity a lot? And if so, what toys do you recommend for birds like these?

This bit made me laugh, and I know that feeling. I had to go through this biting stage with a baby African Grey for awhile. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I have the African Grey and a Cockatoo. The cockatoo likes anything that rattles and makes noises. She also loves mirrors. She'll spend forever looking into a mirror. She'll dance in the mirror too. I just have to be careful if she breaks the edges around the mirror she needs a new one. Otherwise I am seriously risking her health by letting her continue to play with the mirror. My African Grey likes rope like material as well as cardboard. She has several toys with thick rope on them, and I give her a box to chew on when she's out with me while I'm watching TV or doing paperwork.

My cockatiel loves "shredder" type toys. His favorites are the little birdie pinatas that are made out of palm leaf, and Chinese finger traps stuffed with crinkle paper. The bird store I usually buy from sent a few to me once as freebies, and Buzzy went nuts with them. Now I have to buy them in bulk because he'll shred through two a day (three if I'm working a long day. I'll leave him an extra so he has something to do). He also likes his little mirror with a "spinner" attached to it.

My family has had a african grey parrot for generations and he is the funniest parrot to me. He loves to play with plastic water bottles. he can literally play with them for hours and hours and not get tired one bit from them. Anything else that gets into his reach he would probably attempt to break and if he can't break it then he plays with it. Haha. I guess this is how he determines if it worhy enough to play with or not!

Mirrors would have definitely been my bird's favorite toy! He would lick it continuously and it was the cutest thing ever!
