Has anyone tried Emery Cat?
Has anyone here tried Emery Cat, one of the As Seen on TV products? It's a scratch pad that's supposed to trim your cat's nails.

We tried it, and it didn't work at all. The cats used it briefly and lost interest, and their nails were sharper than ever. Worse, I've read reviews where people said that their cats actually lost a claw in the honeycomb...

Have any of you used it? If so, what were your experiences?

I bought one. My cat sniffed at it a couple of times and promptly ignored it. For weeks, I put her on it every time she scratched the furniture but she just plain refused to use it.

I tried it as well. Not only did it not work as far as nail trimming, but my cats were getting their claws stuck in it.

I wonder if people have sued the makers for permanent damage done to cats' claws.

I feel that Emery Cat is just another "As Seen On TV" scam.

If you want to control your cat's scratching, take him/her to the vet or groomer once a month and pay to have his/her nails cut. That is what I do, and it has become worry free for me.

You still should have a scratch pad because cats like it.
