Bug  Little tiny puny turtle on a finger
Look at how tiny this small turtle is. Sitting on a finger like that.

Anyone know what species is this turtle? I wonder if it is just a baby or if this species can only grow this small.

Actually looks like a tortoise, I couldn't say what species off hand. I would bet that is a baby, of one of the smaller species. It almost has to grow from that size. I've never seen an adult tortoise that small. I would guess an Egyptian tortoise, hermanns tortoise, Greek tortoise, etc... One of the Mediterranean species.

It is very cute though. Smile

Very cute indeed. What is the difference between a turtle and a tortoise?

Well, this could be debatable in common terminology. A true tortoise is in the Testudinidae family. A family of land dwelling chelonians. There are a number of families of turtles. Most aquatic or semi-aquatic.

They don't have webbed feet, are completely terrestrial, typically have the visible claws. I am not sure of all the exact scientific differences though.
