How many times a day do you feed your pooch?

I only feed my dogs once a day and then give them a large dog biscuits when they wake up and when they go to bed. I've tried feeding them more than once but it resulted in them waking too early because they were hungry or getting me up in the night because they needed to go out. They are quite happy in their routine and let me know when they want feeding!
