Reptile enclosure size requirement?

By the way, you forgot to answer my question on the hiding places. Will more hiding places make a "shy" snake feel more secure in an "insecure" large enclosure? In the case of aquariums and shy fish, it helps. I am just not sure about the shy snakes.
