Dog Invention - Connect with your pets from anywhere
Hi All,

I have currently made a robot that a user can have in their house to interact with their pets while the user is away (looks like a remote control car), it has a webcam and a microphone. The user can access the mobile app which I have also created that controls the movement of the robot. The mobile app runs through WiFI which means that wherever you have internet connection you can control the robot, see your pet as well as talk to them.

The purpose of my threads is to find out what functions users would want on a product like this. I have also considered treat dispenser, ball thrower, etc.

Please comment

Gordon

RE: Dog Invention - Connect with your pets from anywhere
Your invention reminds me of PetChatz. I haven't actually used one before, but I like the idea.

However, the fact that yours is a robot is a definitely advantage. I'm sure my pup wanders around my house when he's home alone, and it would be fun to see him in his "natural habitat," if you will. Being able to deliver treats would definitely be an option that I would enjoy. Perhaps it could be an upgraded model?

How sturdy is your robot? I'm only wondering because I'm sure that if my pup sees something rolling around the house, he's going to want to sniff and drool on it, at the very least. If he's feeling particularly playful, he's going to want to chew on it. How fun would it be to play chase with him while I'm not there by having him chase the thing around the house?

If it also had an audio component that I could talk to him through, it would be interesting to practice training with him. Especially with the treat dispenser, I could offer rewards for him following directions.
