I personally use Brewers Yeast. You put it into the scruff of the animals neck and gently rub it in; you can also put a teaspoon into their wet food. It's the better method for preventing fleas, because it's all natural and it's okay if the animal licks it off their fur. It also prevents your animal from getting ticks.

Though, if your pet has a bad flea infestation, I suggest using Revolution medicine on them. It's the kind where you put the drops onto their scruff. We liked Revolution because it got rid of fleas, ear mites, ticks and heart worms. I believe you can buy Revolution online some where.
