Can your dog be just too smart sometimes ?
So, for the last couple of months, we thought our toilet had a slow leak at the bottom. It was never very much, but every now and then , it showed up, and we had to keep cleaning the area and washing the little foot mat that went around the toilet.
While I was in the hospital for the heart operation, my husband tried an experiment. He kept the bathroom door shut except when he was in the bathroom.
Low and behold---- no more wet spots ! !
Apparently, my Chipper had totally figured out that a toilet was where we go to the bathroom, and was lifting his little leg right there. I am sure that he was proud of his mental abilities, and being able to figure out what the toilet was for.
While I am pleased with his reasoning ability; I am certainly NOT pleased with the results.
Does anyone else have a dog that was so smart that he has learned to do something that you don't want them to do ??

My daughter's do knows where his doggie bones are kept. He will sit there with his chin on the box until she gives him one. I know that if the box were not securely closed, he would be getting his own treats out! My little dog knows where her treats are kept, too. Fortunealty, they are out of her reach, but when I go to bed at night she is right there waiting for her goodie. That is the only time she gets any.
