Do you give your dogs human food?
Apart from the economics part of it I do consider giving your dogs human food as a good practice. Not only is the food less expensive but there is also the fact that people try to prepare a balanced diet which would be beneficial to the dogs too. I don't think there are health concerns worth considering here because dogs have more efficient digestive systems as compared to humans , the fact that they can digest comes is a testimony to this. Most families make the mistake of discarding leftovers which the dogs would relish anyday. In any case, this would engender change which is good to their palate. Over time, dogs have developed the omnivorous habit of feeding having learnt to live with with us after the discovery of fire to take advantage of cooked food left by humans in the vicinity of their dwellings. I suppose it also fosters human interaction with the canines because we shape one more aspect of our lives which is very close to our hearts and souls- food.

RE: Do you give your dogs human food?
We have planned on the feeding of our dogs. The question was what if there is a shortage of dog food, will our dog eat another brand of dog food? And to override that potential problem, we decided to feed our dogs with cooked food. It is boiled or fried meat and fish all the time. Our dogs are used to eating a variety of cooked food and they surely enjoy. With their laboratory checkup, there is no problem so we are sure they are fed good food. But we are careful about seasoning - yeah, no seasoning whatsoever. Just plain boiled or fried chicken meat, pork, fish meat.

No, it's not allowed in our family. The dog only eats its own food

I think a human food is more natural comparing with the dry dog's food, so I usually mix 50/50

Sometimes I can give my dogs diet meat, but I don't recommend giving them chicken because the bones are very bad for them.
