I Need a Dog Whisperer LOL
My dog refuses his training. He eats up our clothes. He is the sweetest pup ever, but he's hardheaded and my husband is getting fed up. My kids love him, and he's very playful, but he hates strangers. He barks and snaps at them, but he wouldn't bite them. I need someone who knows his language to train him properly. Anybody have any ideas on how to improve his behavior before my husband has had enough for good.

Your dog sounds identical to my dog's behavior problems. My dogs are now outside full time and not aloud in the house. I love them to bits, but they are destroying my home left and right. There is only so much you can do before you lose your mind. I struggle to train my dogs because they will not take to anything I say. From what I understand, this means that they do not see me as an authoritative figure at all. I would suggest going to a professional dog trainer and have them come examine your dog's behavior. They will be able to help you place your dog in the correct classes or even give you the best tips to help your dog effectively.

RE: I Need a Dog Whisperer LOL
I think you really need a dog trainer. Although we had a sad experience with a dog trainer, it looks like your dog is just mischievous. Pipoy, our pug, is in a similar situation. He is a very mischievous dog who would urinate in all corners of the house, chew on anything and quarrel with the other dogs. The problem with Pipoy is his hyperactive behavior makes him lose his breath. He would gasp for air so we are scared that he might collapse. That's the main reason why until now that he is 3 years old, he is still in a cage.

I hope you can arrest the bad behavior of your dog with a good trainer.

Your puppy's probably just bored. He should get a daily dose of exercise so that he'll have an outlet for all that energy. You could also look up Cesar Milan, the dog whisperer himself and his website. He's covered a lot of topics on dog behavior. My dog chewed on everything when she's still a puppy. But I bought her her own chew toys and we played fetch with her a lot. I'd walk her sometimes then I would jog around while she follows me. The exercise pretty soon tires her out and she doesn't have the energy for too much destructive behavior.
