Pumpkin to aid digestion of dogs

My dog had digestion issues for the first year we had him, probably because he was switched to adult food from puppy food at too young of an age (which is probably because people assumed he was an adult dog because of his size, but he was actually still a young pup). He would get a spoonful of canned pumpkin in his food, and that helped him out quite a lot. He actually loves eating it, which is surprising.
