Sad  Rachael Ray Dog Food
Hey Y'all! Just wondering if any of you have tried the Rachael Ray line of dog food? I was considering changing Peanut and Prissy's food and noticed this at Walmart recently. They are currently on a no grain food called Zignature. I buy them the Lamb and Rice formula. I have to purchase this food from a pet store called Tailspin. It costs a little over $30 for a 13lb bag and they go through it pretty quickly. The same size bag of Rachael Ray dog food was a little over $20. I was thinking about trying the no grain Turkey and Potato. It is so much cheaper and I can conveniently pick it up at any Walmart whereas I have to make a special trip to Tailspin. I started them on the Zignature no grain food in hopes of helping Peanut with his possible allergies. He chews his front paws a lot and I was told it may be a food allergy. So far, he has been eating the Zignature for 2 months now and I have not seen an improvement. Since it is not working anyways, I figured this time around I would buy the Rachael Ray food instead. I would love to hear feedback on this!

Well, I hate to break it to you, but it looks like the Rachel Ray is worse than the Zignature food. If you check out both foods brands you mentioned on dogfoodadvisor.com (I know I mention this site a lot on here, I swear I'm not affiliated, haha) Zignature received 4 stars, whereas the Rachel Ray brand received 3, I'm assuming you're talking about the "Just 6" variety. Her other dry food received 2.5 stars. Here are the links:

Zignature: http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-r...-dog-food/
Rachel Ray Just 6: http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-r...sh-just-6/

Now, I didn't read much deeper than the ratings, you can check out their reviews and see if you agree/disagree, etc. Obviously at the end of the day, the choice is yours what to feed your dogs, some ingredients are controversial, but not necessarily proven to be bad. I personally switched my dog to the Acana Regionals, which won't be found at Wal-Mart either most likely, but they received a 5-star rating (link below) and they're around the 20 dollar price range as well. I have to purchase it from a local non-chain pet store near my house, but I'm happy to support a local business. You could also use the site to research different brands available at Wal-Mart, there might be some good options, I'm not sure. Good luck!

It may not help to change dog food, unless it is an allergy to something that is unique to just the Zignature brand of pet food. If it is one of the more common ingredients , then it is probably in other brands of dog food also; or it might be an allergic reaction to fleas, or something that is completely unrelated to dog food.

Another likely possibility is a yeast infection, which usually causes the dog to lick and chew at their feet. If it is that, Mercola.com has a great video about treating it with a dip of vinegar and peroxide. You can easily mix it up and try it on your dog, and see if it helps at all, since it is made from products that most of us have in our kitchen or bathroom. This short video explains how to mix and use the dip. I also make a spray, and if I see Chipper licking his feet, I spray them right away.

Chelsea Handler also has some line of dog food coming out. She teamed up with Snoop Dog on it. As bizarre as this may sound, it's actually kind of a cool idea. Apparently, for every bag of it that you buy, they will donate a bag to the local animal shelters to keep them fed as well.
