As a firm believer in not eating meat, I don't exactly want my dogs to eat it either. I get plenty of protein, B vitamins etc. throughout the day. I know there is potential problems with protein and vitamin B12 for humans if their diet is not correct. I'm not sure how far along the world of vegetarian dog food has come, but if there is a healthy way around eating meat, I would rather that they don't.
I'm not too certain about pet nutrition. Maybe someone can shed a little more light on this for me. I know that humans need to eat around half of their body weight in grams of protein a day. I'm not too sure if this same rule would apply to dogs as well.
Has anyone heard of, or had had any good experience with vegetarian dog food?
