Ever had a girlfriend (or boyfriend?) grossed out by insect pets?

Looking back, I know most of my ex-girlfriends would have been disgusted if I had any insects as pets. So I do think about that, since some insects can last for a long time. Have you ever had any difficulties with the opposite sex? Or do you see that attitude as an instant reason for ending future romantic relationships? After all, if pets are a significant part of your life and insects too, I guess your interests should be respected.

Not all insects are gross. Cockroaches are gross, and they freaked me out when I was a kid. Flies are gross, because they are extremely dirty considering where they make their "stops".
Many insects are actually quite cool looking. There is nothing gross about most of the plants eating insects. They are cleaner than us.

nope, never had problem. of course my boyfriend doesnt care for the bugs like i do, but he doesnt mind them. heck, i keep my cricket and roach bins in my bedroom! he doesnt care just doesnt like to touch them all my insects are feeders though, unless my brother steals one or two for a pet lol

Looks like the roles have been reversed with Amanda. Usually most girls are no fan of insects aside maybe butterfly. It is the guys who mostly had played with insects at some point during the childhood. Although there are exceptions. One of my old neighbor's daughter used to catch crickets for fun.

I have a lot of pet insects and bugs. Not all cockroaches are nasty. I have 10 Madagascar Hissing cockroach for pets.

I heard cockroaches will eat everything even their own dead comrades and feces. Call me a non believer. Until you show us some cute photos of those Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, I will call them nasty little creatures.

What other insects and bugs have you had as pets? I have had crickets, silkworm, grasshoppers, and some others I can't even name.
