Dogs can catch strep throat from humans!
A few months back, when my dog was acting a bit lethargic, I took her to my local vet. He asked if my dog had been around any 'unsavory characters'. He's a family friend I've known since I was little, so he was joking around with me a bit. I said, what do you mean? He explained that it is actually possible for some diseases to be transmitted from people to dogs (and vice versa). Luckily, my dog didn't have strep, but I was interested because I had never even considered this could be possible. I just wanted to share this story in case anyone else was naive like me. If you find yourself or someone in your family having a sore throat, it might be best to keep a bit of distance between you and your dog for the time being, especially if you think it might be strep.

If you've heard of any other diseases that can be passed between people and dogs, please post them here, I'd like to know about them. Thanks!
