I was expecting to see a video of the snake moving into his new home. Smile
How does he like it so far? Has he ever stayed inside that artificial cave you built?
For a snake that size, what food do you feed to him? I am guessing some rodents.

he loves it! after he hungout in his hide, he went straight for his tub of water and submerged himelf, then he spent all night checking all the nooks and crannies, i think he likes it :3 he is inside his hide right now. and yep, he eats a large small rat, if that makes any sense lol..he will probably be fed about every week until he settles in and grows some.

I like his little face. He has really pretty markings. Even though I don't think of snakes as cuddly pets that love their owners , I still find them fascinating and kind of beautiful. I wonder if pet snakes have personalities or recognize their owners. By the way Thor is a great name. He looks like a Thor. Congrats on the new addition to your family.

Snakes definitely have personalities. Its different from most mammals, but they are definite individuals. Some love to be held, some during the day, some at night, some both, some neither, etc... You could apply that idea to many different personally traits. And I don't think I could prove it, but I think some snakes recognize different people. Especially the mid sized and larger species.

Manda, he definitely looks the columbian-ish part. I think your plan sounds good. Smile

ive been looking at google pics all day and id have to agree he looks mostly columbian. which means, he may have a gf come spring Wink and i also have to agree snakes definitely have personalities, all reptiles do, i can see it with my leopards and saw it when i had more chameleons...each is unique and will recognize people.

Beautiful boy you have there! And yes, boas are one of the more inquisitive species, like I stated in a post earlier. Of the snakes I've dealt with. Boa, retics, and burms, have some of the most unique personality and they seem to always be checking things out and sizing them up, trying to figure it out. I've worked with rattlesnakes in the past and they are pretty smart in my opinion. The problem is a lot of people think of intelligence on the level with humans, and in my opinion they'd be smarter. you don't see them destroying the planet with pollution and war do you? I hope you two have many, many years together. He's defiantly a beauty!
