How to Naturally Cure a ear infection in a dog
I believe my dog has an ear infection. It is pretty red inside, and she keeps shaking her head and itching it. I have some garlic and lavender oil that I use for my daughter's ears when she has a ear infection and it goes away within two days. I'm wondering if this natural oil will work on my dog as well. I don't want to harm her though so I figured I'd ask before I give it a try. I prefer to try the natural way before any other way first to see if it works before I spend money on antibiotics and lower her immune system. Have you tried any natural remedies that have worked on your animals to cure their ear infections? I have thought about trying some colloidal silver as well but I'm not sure how the dog will react to that either.

RE: How to Naturally Cure a ear infection in a dog
Personally, when it comes to using natural medicine, I would be careful. For one, you have no idea what your dog may be allergic to and as a dog, there may be certain ingredients within natural products that aren't healthy for him or her. Whenever my dog has something going on such as an ear infection or more, I go straight to the Vet to see what I can do to help him get better. Yes, it costs money and yes, it may not be natural, but THAT should be the place where you begin to ask questions and look for other options than the medication that they require you to buy. For example, if my dog did have an ear infection, I could ask about using garlic and lavender oil and if that would be considered healthy. You're paying for your time with them, so ask whatever you can. Knowing all Vets, they have pets of their own and they would probably be just as natural and know a couple tricks to prevent buying scientifically proven medication for their animals too. So I would give that a try first before using natural remedies that are often used on humans.

Now these days, ear infection in dogs is common. You can follow these steps to cure an ear infection in your dog:
• Check your dog ear regularly if it smell bad or it is red in color there may be ear infection.
• If you see outer ear dirty remove the dirt part from cloth or cotton
• You should groom your dog weekly which should include cleaning his ear and brushing his teeth
