My main fish food is
New Life Spectrum Thera A+ 0.5mm pellets.
Omega One Garlic flakes
Hikari micro pellets
Hikari Aglae Wafer (for bottom eaters, but others love it too)
Omega One Sinking shrimp pellets

Supplements
Hikari freeze dried Brine shrimp
Omega One freeze dried bloodworm
Hikari freeze dried Dalphia

I like to feed fish only high quality food from the best brands, and I feed them a variety of food for a more balanced diet. Sometimes I use Vitachem to enhance the vitamins, as well as Seachem Garlicguard for increase immune system of fish.

RE: What food do you feel your fish?
Well,i need to find out some special feeding requirements for my fish before i purchasing them.Hoping that i can provide them what they need.I think not only the quality and the kinds of food affect the sizes and health of the fish, but also the amounts you feed them.Yeah,in any case,we need to get our fish to eat as many different kinds food as we can to ensure they are getting everthing they need. Some fish are used to eating all the time,so you have to feed them as often as is pratical(small amouts at least once per day). But for others, they can survive without several days at all.If you want your fish grow faster and bigger, then watch out the amouts you feed them.In a word, the more you feed your fish the faster they will grow to their maximum sizes.

I don't recommend feed fish more than once a day. No more than they can eat in 30 seconds is my own standard, except for the sinking algae wafer that might take fish some time to chew on it.

Overfeeding is one of the biggest reasons that fish die. You are not running a fish farm for food, are you?

I'm a little aggrivated right now as one of the staples for my bettas is rumored to be going out of comission. Atison's Pro has been great for them but it's geting hard to buy it online.

Have you tried Hikari Betta Bio-Gold?

I've heard good things about it. In fact, I had bought one pack myself a while ago, because I thought I was going to get betta! That never happened lol. Maybe someday. Although, I think the pellets are little big.

I do like it and actually have quite a bit- one of the things I like about Atison's is the pellets are SMALL.

This is something I'm trying out now: Repashy

I do quite a mix of the frozen foods as well- I have a few types of fish, so almost at all times I have the frozen brine, bloodworm, mysis shrimp etc available. I actually need to go buy more as I'm running low right now.

I haven't hatched any BBS in a while but I actually have a fairly decent colony of them in various grow-out stages on hand now. SInce I don't have any new betta fry here I'm not starting new ones up- Im just working on a more mature batch which can go for some of my more agressive/large fish.

RE: What food do you feed your fish?
SpirulinaIf you need to find another type of pellets, try New Life Spectrum A+ 0.5mm pellets.

I bought 1mm pellets at first, they were too big for my fish lol. Most of my fish are small like cardinal Tetra. They would still eat them though, by holding the pellets in the mouth and the pellets would go in and go out of their mouth for a while to dissolve a little bit before they can eat it. The 0.5mm pellets were just fine, and they can all swallow them whole.

Those NLS pellets are made of whole krill etc. So it is very good high quality stamp food. I've heard good things about them from other fish keepers before I bought them.

I once hatched some brine shrimps for my Neon Rainbowfish fry. It was fun. Even the adult cardinal Tetra in the other tank would go after them.

Doesn't betta eat mostly insects larvae in the wild? They should love bloodworm. Omega One bloodworm are the real thing. They are good for color too. Mosquito larvae are equally nutritious but not as good on the color enhancement. I've bought way too many different fish food than it was necessary lol. Bloodworm alone I got Omega One and San Francisco Bay Brand freeze dried bloodworm, as well as Omege One frozen bloodworm. As for Brind Shrimp, I also got Omega One and Hikari freeze dried, as well as Omega One frozen brine shrimp, and some San Francisco Bay brine shrimp eggs. I was crazy haha...

Even for betta food, I not only bought the Hikari Gold, but also Omega One betta flakes. Neither was ever used because of I haven't bought a betta yet.

On the side note, Hikari freeze dried brine shrimp smells really good! There is also Spirulina in it. It is very attempting to try some myself. Tongue

Hikari is one of my three favorite fish food brands along with Omega One and New Life Spectrum.

You can buy VitaChem here.
