Your dogs favorite food
What type of dog food do you use? We had such difficulty finding something that our pup would eat when we first got him! He loves a softer food but I like using something crunchy to help keep his teeth cleaner. We've settled into a good pattern of some soft food mixed with a bit of crunchy. Works for us!

RE: Your dogs favorite food
My brother had a lovely boxer named Hera. She had originally belonged to a couple who ran a local pizza place. Apparently, they fed Hera what was left over and the dog had a real love of pizza, spaghetti and garlic bread. One time, my brother and his wife got a pizza and placed it on the bed in their bedroom. They were going to watch a DVD while having supper. He ran upstairs to grab some cola and cups of ice. When he got back downstairs, the center of the box had been torn open and the middle of the pizza eaten. Hera was hiding in another room, looking extremely guilty and covered in pizza sauce.

Another dog we had - I say we since I took care of her when he was working on the road - loved cornbread. I have no idea why. One of us gave her a piece since she was begging for some people dinner scraps, thinking that would put her off. Nope. She nearly ate the entire loaf.

I have never had difficulty finding something my dog would eat. If I put dirt in her bowl, she would devour it. LOL Originally, I was feeding her Purina One puppy food, but after my brother's dog broke out with bad acne on the same food, I switched to Nature's Recipe. She's on the Nature's Recipe Toy Breed food now. For treats she gets Charlee Bear cranberry treats or Old Mother Hubbard veggie treats.

I don't really feed Misha people food. She's so small that it's difficult to maintain her weight. I do share a little of my rice cake with her and she gets a couple of Cheerios at breakfast. She also gets a baby carrot or broccoli when I make lunch. She loves vegetables.

If she had her druthers, her day would be filled with peanut butter. LOL

RE: Your dogs favorite food
Truth be told, my pet loves human food a lot but then it's not good for them. I was able to hit the jackpot when I had them eat Optima Lamb and Rice which was pretty much in our budget. We've also tried Pet One, but they get bored of it immediately so I often switch their food once in every 2-3 months so that it's not the same kibble taste and smell all the time.

Often times, I'd give them big beef bones and they can gnaw at it all day and the next day if I'd simply leave them alone.

Fortunately, I don't have problems with maintaining their weight. It seems that dogs here seldom get fat.
