I remember a time more than 10 years ago when I bought a very young calf. It was a holstein. It had a white coat with multiple black spots all over the body making it look like an exotic sheep. I nursed and fed him and over time, he became a close friend akin to a pet. As he grew up, he reached a stage where speculators were making advance orders for the pet bull to replenish their net supplies. I just couldn't manage to sacrifice a pet and a close friend on the altar of economic gain. I had to leave it to my mother to sell him in my absence.
